High water travels up the river as a wave. On 10 October it takes 2 h 20 min from Vlissingen to Wintam, and low water lags even more, about 3 h. The range grows from about 4.6 m at Vlissingen to 6.2 m at Wintam. Heights are in metres above LAT at each station. Each station shows its latest official high and low water time; the map is coloured by the stage of the tide, and below, the water surface along the fairway tilts as the wave passes.
