The Gulf Stream at the full model resolution of 1/12° (about 8 km). The Florida Current runs north along the American coast, leaves the shelf at Cape Hatteras and turns out into the Atlantic, meandering as it goes. Its loops pinch off into warm and cold rings that drift for weeks, and the whole Sargasso Sea is filled with eddies. Four weeks of daily currents from the Copernicus global ocean model.
