A month of surface currents across the whole world ocean. The Gulf Stream leaves the American coast and breaks into eddies on its way to Europe, the Kuroshio does the same off Japan, and the Agulhas Current races down the coast of South Africa. Along the equator the Pacific currents run in bands east and west, and around Antarctica the Antarctic Circumpolar Current links all the oceans. The model runs at 1/12° (about 8 km) and is shown here at 1/3°.
