A low over the North Atlantic deepened explosively on 13 and 14 October 2026, days after Hurricane Isaias came ashore in Florida. Forecasters linked part of its energy to the remains of Isaias. South of Iceland its central pressure fell to about 931 hPa, the lowest October value on record there. In the Copernicus wave model the waves between Iceland and the Faroes reach about 17 metres around midnight on 14 to 15 October.
