Who we are

The Moving Sea is a website and video channel by Bart Gonnissen, Antwerp, Belgium. It shows tides, currents, waves and ships made visible from open data. Contact: [email protected].

The website

The website has no accounts and sets no cookies. Its only form is the newsletter sign-up described below. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies and without following individual visitors. The site is hosted by Cloudflare Pages, which processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect them against abuse. The fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which also receives your IP address. Links to YouTube and Ko-fi take you to those services, where their own privacy policies apply.

The Moving Sea publisher

The publisher is a private tool that The Moving Sea uses to publish its own videos to its own YouTube channel, Instagram account and TikTok account. It is not offered to anyone else. It uses YouTube API Services, the Instagram API and the TikTok Content Posting API, with access granted by the account owner. With that access it uploads videos with their titles, descriptions and captions, sets their release times, and reads back the ID and link of each video or post. It collects no data about viewers, followers or other users. The access tokens are stored encrypted, used only for these tasks, and never shared or sold.

YouTube

The publisher uses YouTube API Services. The YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy apply.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we store your email address with MailerLite, our newsletter service, which processes it on our behalf. We use it only to send the newsletter. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us at [email protected] to delete your address at any time.

Withdrawing access

The account owner can withdraw the publisher's access at any time: for Google at myaccount.google.com/permissions, for Instagram under Settings, Apps and websites, and for TikTok under Settings, Security, Manage app permissions. On request, or when the tool is no longer used, the stored tokens are deleted. Questions or deletion requests: [email protected].
